In these terms, "we" and "us" mean METEO CENTAR d.o.o., and "you" means the person or organisation using the service.
2. What these terms cover
These terms govern the use of the website meteoapi.eu and of the MeteoAPI.eu forecast API, including every plan. By using the service or holding an API key you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
An Enterprise customer's separate written agreement takes precedence over these terms wherever the two differ.
3. What the service is
MeteoAPI.eu delivers weather forecast data through an application programming interface (API): a blend of several numerical weather prediction models, corrected for elevation, for coordinates in its coverage area. It is the output of computer simulations of the atmosphere, verified against observations, and not an official forecast or warning issued by a national meteorological service.
Forecasts are uncertain by nature. Differences from the weather that actually occurs are normal, and the chance of error grows with the length of the forecast horizon.
4. Plans and API keys
- Demo: a public key for evaluation, rate limited per client address. We change the demo key from time to time, without notice, so it must not be built into a product; request a free key for that.
- Free: a personal key, issued on request at our discretion, for integrations already working with the demo key. We may decline a request, and we may revoke a free key that is not used.
- Starter and Pro: paid monthly subscriptions, issued immediately on purchase.
- Enterprise: by separate written agreement.
The limits of each plan (requests, locations and forecast horizon) are published on the website and in the documentation.
Your API key is a credential. Keep it confidential; you are responsible for all use made with it. If a key may have been exposed, replace it from your account page: the old key stops working the moment the new one is issued.
5. Acceptable use
Without our written permission, you may not:
- exceed or deliberately work around the limits of your plan, for example by spreading one integration across several keys or client addresses;
- publish your key, or share it with third parties outside your own organisation;
- resell, sublicense or redistribute the forecast data as a data feed or as a competing weather service.
Displaying forecasts to the users of your own product or service is the intended use and is permitted. Redistribution of the data itself needs a redistribution agreement; ask at support@meteoapi.eu.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are in euro and exclude VAT. The applicable VAT is added at checkout according to your location and status; a business customer with a valid VAT number is reverse charged where the law provides for it.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited or Paddle Payments Limited, depending on your location), which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Your purchase contract is with Paddle: Paddle takes the payment, issues your invoice and handles VAT, and we provide the service. You enter your card details directly with Paddle; we never see or store your card number. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to the purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason, from your account page, which opens Paddle's billing portal, or by writing to support@meteoapi.eu. After cancellation your key keeps working until the end of the period already paid for, and nothing further is charged.
If you are not satisfied, write to us and we will refund the full amount of the current billing period, no questions asked. We would rather refund than argue about who is right. The full rules, including the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers, are in our Refund Policy.
8. Consumers' right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving any reason. An unambiguous statement sent to support@meteoapi.eu is enough, with details that let us identify you: the email address of your subscription and the date of purchase.
Although the law would allow us to charge a proportionate amount for the days the service was already used, we do not. We refund the full amount paid, without deductions, without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your statement, to the original payment method.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, except where an Enterprise agreement says otherwise. Planned maintenance, equipment failures, delays in model computation and interruptions at our suppliers are possible.
If an interruption lasts long enough that your subscription lost its purpose, contact us: we will extend the period or refund it, whichever you prefer.
10. Nature of the service and liability
MeteoAPI.eu data is not intended as the sole basis for decisions about the safety of people or property, in particular in navigation, aviation, mountaineering, outdoor work and similar activities. For such decisions, use the official forecasts and warnings of the competent national services.
For business customers, and to the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or the cost of decisions taken on the basis of a forecast. This limitation does not apply to intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow it.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights a consumer has under mandatory consumer protection law.
11. Suspension and termination
A paid key is suspended automatically when its subscription ends or a payment finally fails, and works again if the subscription is restored. We may revoke a key that is used in breach of these terms. If we end a paid subscription without cause, we refund the unused part of the period.
12. Changes to these terms and to prices
We may change these terms and our prices. We will notify subscribers by email at least 30 days before any change that affects the price or significant rights takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel before it takes effect. We do not change the price of an existing subscription without explicit notice.
13. Complaints
Complaints can be sent to support@meteoapi.eu or by post to our registered address. We reply in writing within 15 days of receipt. Consumers may also refer a dispute to an alternative dispute resolution body under Croatian law.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Croatia. The competent court at our registered seat has jurisdiction, without prejudice to the rights a consumer has under the mandatory law of the country of their habitual residence.
